Hi Sunshine News Readers,
It’s truly been non-stop here these past few weeks since launching our summer fundraising and community events and it doesn’t end there as we still have even more to announce. We’ve mostly been launching brand new, small-scale challenge events, but don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about our old favourites…
With that in mind, we’re delighted to say that our Question of Sport quiz and dinner will be returning to the Grand Hotel in Gosforth Park on Thursday, November 22! Our annual sporting event is highly anticipated and is much-loved as it’s the first of its kind in the region, and it brings together individuals and organisations across the city, providing a great networking opportunity, or a reason to reward staff.
It’s with great pleasure as well to say that this year’s Question of Sport will be sponsored for a fourth year by our friends at Lowes Financial Management. We’re so pleased to have their support for another year and we’re so excited to see what this year’s evening will bring.
We’ve made some plans to revamp the event for 2024 so that the event has a fresher feel. We’re making the night more interactive, more engaging and guests will have lots of opportunities throughout the night to join in with interactive sporting games, with some fantastic prizes and experiences to be won. We have a few surprises up our sleeves so watch this space…
We aren’t making too many drastic changes though, as we know how much our loyal attendees love the night. We’ll be keeping lots of the usual aspects and the night will continue to consist of a complimentary drinks reception, a delicious three course meal, and formal dress code.
We’re offering an early bird discount, and anybody who books a table by August 30 will receive a 20% deduction from their ticket price. Spaces purchased before September will be priced at £80 each, or £800 for a table of 10. After September, the standard rate of £100 per person and £1,000 per table will apply, so get in quick if you want to join the sports quiz of the year and get revising!

In the meantime, we still have spaces left on our thrill-seeking events and challenges to raise vital funds over the summer. Over the next few months, we’re encouraging supporters to try something new, take on a personal challenge, or face their fears in one of our activities, to raise money so we can continue to support children living with disabilities, additional needs and terminal illness in our region.
We have a skydive in September for the ultimate adrenaline experience, as well as an evening of e-kart racing after work or school, where racers can compete to be top of the leaderboard. We’re also teaming up with Jelly Legs for the second year as we bring back our Sunshine Zipline across the Tyne. We offer discounted entry and the fundraising target is only £50.
For more information and to book on to any of our events, please visit www.thesunshinefund.org/get-involved. If you have any questions, or for corporate team bookings, please contact us at hello@thesunshinefund.org.
To coincide with these events, we are also running a digital ‘Summer of Thrills’ raffle, and the theme is adventure! We have a selection of action-packed prizes up for grabs. To enter, simply text THRILL to 70215 and follow the instructions.
One text equals one entry and you can enter as many times as you like. Anybody who signs up to one of our thrill-seeking events automatically receives four free entries! Entries close at 23.59pm on August 30 and entrants must be aged 16 or over.
Thanks for reading!
