Hi Sunshine News Readers,
From the outside it may look like we’ve been quiet since our Sunshine Run 5K, but behind the scenes we have been super busy as we launch a whole calendar of events in the next couple of weeks!
We’ve been planning our events for the rest of 2024 and we’re excited to see the return of some of our old favourites, many of which have had a little refresh, as well as welcoming some brand new ideas as well.
Our summer is filled with fundraising challenges, inclusive family events, opportunities to win prizes, and perhaps even a touch of networking. We won’t say too much but there’s something for everyone…whether you’re an adrenaline junkie, a sports fan, or if you prefer something a little bit more relaxing, keep an eye on our socials and website over the next couple of weeks where we’ll be announcing all!
In between planning our events, we’ve also been out and about at other events, too. Last Thursday, myself and our families co-ordinator, Bev, were invited to the Centre for Life for their Summer Party. We took this opportunity not only to watch their brand new planetarium show, ‘Earth Defenders’, but it also allowed us to check out some of the new additions to the centre ahead of an exciting visit with our families next week.
We had a great time and it was lovely catching up with some familiar faces including David Jones, community liaison manager at the Centre For Life. We’ve been working with David and his team for over a year now and he’s very kindly offered some spaces for our community next weekend for their ‘Spotlight on…Our Earth’ day. After seeing how much new stuff is at the centre, we’re sure our families are set to have a great day and we can’t wait.
This week, myself and our head of charity, David, attended a networking event hosted by the North East Chamber of Commerce which was held at 3SIXTY Rooftop at Hadrian’s Tower. The stunning 360 views of our city aside, it was great meeting some new people and also seeing some familiar faces, too.
Come back next week to find out the many ways people can get involved with our charity over the summer. Can you guess what we might be announcing…?
Thanks for reading!
