Hi Sunshine News readers,
We have a very exciting partnership to launch this week that we’ve been working on since the start of the year.
We are delighted to announce that we are the nominated charity partner for North East Netball in 2022 and their first event in support of The Chronicle Sunshine Fund is taking place very soon.
On Saturday, April 2, they are hosting their first ever North East Netball Showcase which is taking place at the Beacon of Light in Sunderland.
The showcase will see teams from North East Netball compete in 3 matches against Bath which promises to be an exciting afternoon of entertainment for all the family.
We will also be there fundraising throughout the day so would love to see some of our supporters there.
Tickets are £10 per person and will be going on general sale from Monday, February 14 and 30% of each ticket sale will be donated to the charity.
If you’re interested in buying tickets, sponsoring, volunteering, or donating raffle prizes, please email the team.
As well as the April Showcase, we have some exciting plans for a summer family fun day with netball tournaments where our children and supporters can take part too!
There has even been mention of a Team Sunshine match with our team, corporate supporters and families which has been met with mixed levels of enthusiasm in the office!
I for one am very excited and will be ready and raring to take part, but it might take some convincing for others, who shall remain nameless, to dust off her plimsoles from their school days!
We pride ourselves on offering events to our families where all children can get involved, regardless of ability and so we’re thrilled to be opening up a new sporting opportunity to them.
It’s amazing that North East Netball share the same vision of inclusivity and accessibility and they have some great ideas about how everyone can get involved.
We’ll be announcing more information very soon!
Leah Kennedy, North East NPL Pathway Head Coach, is leading on the partnership.
She said: "It’s an absolute honour to be able to name The Chronicle Sunshine Fund as our first ever charity partnership.
"We will be able to use our events this season to raise vital funds for a charity that provides critical support for young people and families across the North East and especially now at such a pressured time.
"Our netball showcase will be the first opportunity to bring together our netball family in support of the charity."
