Hi all,
We hope you’ve had a lovely week. Our week has been filled with planning, meetings and registering schools for our new Seeds of Hope campaign, is your school or organisation signed up yet?
This is your final chance to nab a place with Team Sunshine in the GNR which takes place on Sunday, September 11!
We have our final few places remaining and with this year’s race reverting to the much-loved South Shields finish line, it’s one not to be missed!
Ballot places were announced back in February and so the only way to secure a place is through a charity, so why not support disabled babies, children, and young adults right here in our region and take part with Team Sunshine?
We already have some incredible supporters on our team including Haydn who completed his very first GNR last year with parents Richard and Aly, the fabulous Keep Fit
Mammy team who always dazzle us with their sunflower costumes and of course many runners from our race partners, True Potential.
This is the fourth year that True Potential have sponsored Team Sunshine and Team Mini Sunshine and we couldn’t be happier to have them join us again.
True Potential’s support of the charity doesn’t stop at GNR however and individuals across their team give 1000% throughout the year to raise awareness and funds for us.
We ask that Team Sunshine raise £300 to take part which supports us in funding specialist and adapted equipment for our children.
We already have a host of bucket collection events in our diary that supports our fundraisers in meeting their target before the run, but Team Sunshine also benefits from monthly fundraising and training tips, plus one-to-one support from myself.
Our Digital Fundraising Manager, Lauren managed to secure a ballot place last month but is still taking part with Team Sunshine and raising funds.
She said: "This will be my third GNR and one that I’m particularly excited about as I turn 30 this year so thought it would be a great way to celebrate.
"After two years of binging on Netflix and missing out on all the challenge events I used to love, I can’t wait to be at the start line once again with Team Sunshine, knowing that I’m making a real difference to the lives of local disabled children.
"My daughter Eva is also taking part in the Junior GNR with Team Mini Sunshine and has loved doing so for several years now, getting family and friends to sponsor her.
"When you’re a fundraiser your entire household is contracted to your charity, there’s no escape, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!"
There is also still time to take part in the Junior, Wheelchair and accessible Mini 50 GNR! Contact us directly for more information.
Likewise, you can also join Team Sunshine in the main GNR if you have already secured a ballot place.
I look forward to hearing from you!
